COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION

LAMP, INCANDESCENT

(SEALED BEAM, TRADE NO. 4860)

The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to Federal Specification W-L-50.

This description covers a sealed beam two-filament incandescent lamp for military automobile use.

Salient characteristics:

PAR 56 bulb, 178 mm (7 inches) diameter

Design volts- 28.0 for each beam

Watts- 80 for higher beam, 60 for lower beam

Base- waterproof terminals

Filament designation- CC 6 for each filament

Maximum overall length- 5 inches (127 mm)

Rated average life at 80 watts and 28 volts for higher beam- 400 hours, 60 watts and 28 volts for lower beam -400 hours

Workmanship. The lamp shall not have bent contacts, slight or complete discoloration of the lens or reflective coating, small bubbles in the glass, cracked glass, peeled reflective coating, and open or shorted filaments.

Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.

Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. The preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
