Qualification by similarity - The following lamps are required to be fully qualified in
accordance with table I of MIL-DTD-6363:
M6363/12-1
M6363/12-2
M6363/12-4
The following lamps may be qualified by similarity and extension of qualification from
other fully qualified lamps: M6363/12-7 from M6363/12-2. M6363/12-3, -4R, -4SB,
-5, -6, -8, and -9 from M6363/12-4.
Refer to MIL-DTD-6363 for conditions and data requirements for extension of
qualification.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Configuration and dimensions: See figure 1 and table I.
2.
Finish: Glass globe finish shall be as indicated in table I. Red lamps shall conform to
MIL-C-25050 for instrument and panel lighting red. Reflective coated (top only) lamps
shall be clear except for coated area. Distance from bottom edge of coated area to top of
bayonet pins shall be approximately equal to the light center length (LCL).
3.
Lamp operating characteristics: When operated at rated voltage, the lamp operating
characteristics shall be as specified in table I.
4.
Coating adhesion: Applicable to exterior coated lamps.
High temperature: Applicable for qualification tests only (85°C/185F°).

Thermal shock: Applicable for qualification tests only. Use temperatures for Type I
lamps.
7.
Random vibration: Applicable for qualification tests only. See figure 2 for random
vibration curve.
8.
Shock: Applicable for qualification tests only. See table I for applicable "g" level.
9.
Humidity: Applicable for qualification tests only.
